This year, our team was lucky to spend the weekend at the CBD Hemp Business Fair in Barcelona. The event was fun, tiring, and an excellent opportunity to see all the latest innovations and growth of the CBD industry in Europe. Also part of the event were some of the most knowledgeable minds involved in CBD’s study, production, and business.

The CBD Hemp Business Fair was organized by the same team as the annual Spannabis festival in Barcelona, so we enjoyed seeing some familiar industry faces. Here’s what we did and saw over the weekend:

Location

The expo was held at Fira de Cornellá; a large event center and fairgrounds near Barcelona El Prat airport. The building is huge and designed with a large triangular glass foyer in the style of The Louvre. The space was big enough to accommodate over 150 indoor stalls and also included an outdoor space with food vendors, drinks, and a live music stage.

The event was set up with an open design and plenty of common spaces that really fostered conversation. The majority of attendees were involved in the CBD industry and related industries, making these spaces great for encouraging B2B networking and collaboration.

Exhibitors

There were so many cool brands at the expo that we can’t possibly mention them all! Some of the highlights included well-known brands like Cannabis Magazine, Cannactiva, Sensitive CBD, and more. But this year small businesses really stole the show with innovative new products. The expo was a great opportunity for smaller businesses to network with more established companies and to put faces to the names of European CBD.

While our team was there we had our lips anesthetized with numbing CBD gel, hit a vape that can combine three different flavors of CBD, observed CBD extracts being made with state-of-the-art technology, and more. On display at the festival were hemp tea and hemp ice cream, hemp clothes, and CBD cosmetics. We thoroughly enjoyed our hemp beer while testing out flavorful CBD pre-rolls given to us as samples. 

All-in-all there was no shortage of fun, unique and educational experiences related to CBD to be had at the CBD Hemp Business Fair.

Winners

 The culmination of the event was the voting and announcement of CBD superlatives for various categories. The candidates were limited to exhibitors at the festival who elected to be part of the contest. Sarah Sativa CBD was not an exhibitor this year, so you won’t find us here, but we’d love to join as exhibitors in years to come!

We had a really fun time at the event and we will surely be back in future years. It was great seeing how much European CBD has grown since we started!
